Leased from The Woodland Trust,
Greenswood Pond is approximately half an acre in size, and offers
some spectacular fishing for such a small water, especially later
on in the year. It is situated approximately 100 yards from the
car park, along a woodland path, and with only 12 swims, it is
generally a quiet and peaceful water. Species of fish present
include Roach, Rudd, Perch, Tench, and Crucian Carp.
In 1996 Greenswood Pond was netted and drained,
to allow essentail de-silting work to be carried out after problems
when the water level had dropped drastically in the hot weather,
putting the fish at risk. The pond is now up to 10ft deep (previously
it was only 2ft in places!) and the fish are thriving. Some of
the larger Roach and Perch may also be reaching 'specimen' size.
